Paul Rand was an Americam Graphic Designer and art director, Paul is well known for his corporate logos. He designed major logos for IBM, UPS, Enron, Morningstar, Westinghouse, ABC and NeXT.

Rand’s most recognized logo designs are most of the big corporate logos, many of which are still in use. IBM, UPS, Enron, Morningstar, Westinghouse, ABC and NeXT.among many others, owe Rand their graphical heritage. One of his strengths, as Moholy-Nagy pointed out, was his ability as a salesman to explain the needs his identities would address for the corporation. According to graphic designer Louis Danziger

‘’He almost singlehandedly convinced business that design was an effective tool. Anyone designing in the 1950s and 1960s owed much to Rand, who largely made it possible for us to work. He more than anyone else made the profession reputable. We went from being commercial artists to being graphic designers largely on his merits.’’

“Simplicity is not the goal. It is the by-product of a good idea and modest expectations.”— Paul Rand

Pauls logo design is very simple and recognizable for many people. He has designed many logos that are still around today.

  1. Dearest Bailey, Excellent choice of picking Paul Rand as your designer, he’s simplistic designs are so perfectly balanced, by using text, line, and shape, my favourite is the westing house design because it looks like a crown.
